Abigail
Rose Solomon has been involved in all aspects of the theatre her whole
life. She grew up playing some of the great male roles at her
all-girls’ school in Manhattan. She received a B.A.,
cum laude, in Theatre from
Williams College,
where she acted, directed, stage-managed and
designed. The Berkshire Eagle voted her Scenic Design, for
Noel Coward’s THE VORTEX, one of “The best [of the year] on
Berkshire stages.” She spent her junior year studying Shakespeare in
England, and acting at Cambridge Arts Theatre.
Upon graduating, she wrote a short One-Woman show, THE WOMAN WHO HAD
NOTHING BUT HER SUNDAY SUIT, which she has performed all over the
country. Abigail also began working as an actor and agent for Add
Verb Productions, touring nationally with a socially active One-Woman
show, THE
THIN LINE,
written by Cathy Plourde. She has sold THE THIN LINE to
schools, colleges, conferences and community organizations all over New
York City and New England, St. Louis and the Mid West, Los Angeles and
Southern California.
In
New York, Abigail has acted with Manhattan Theatre Club,
Women’s Project & Productions, and New Georges. She acted
and ran props for The 52nd St. Project. She researched fund
raising strategies for The New Group, and was on the Broadway stage
management team during rehearsals for THE
MIRACLE WORKER, starring Hilary Swank.
She also embraced “The Biz” and became a marketer for her own acting
career. |
After working on-camera, on SEX & THE CITY,
and LAW & ORDER,
she decided to check out Los Angeles. In L.A., Abigail has acted
in two episodes of NYPD BLUE, played a Recurring
Principal role on DAYS
OF OUR LIVES and
worked with Brad & Angie on MR.
& MRS. SMITH.
In Southern California, Abigail has also been thrilled to discover a
vibrant, cohesive theatre community. She has acted with
Ensemble Theatre Company of Santa Barbara and Sacred Fools. She
became a company member of Theatre Forty in Beverly Hills (celebrating
its’ 40th Anniversary) and was soon elected to the Artistic
Committee, on which she headed the Marketing/Publicity team.
She is also on the Advisory Board of The Vineyard
Playhouse on Martha’s Vineyard,
and was an
Ovation Voter for the L.A. Stage Alliance, Los Angeles’ equivalent
to the Tony Awards. Most recently, she was Assistant Company Manager on
the hit Broadway show, CYRANO DE BERGERAC starring Kevin Kline
and Jennifer Garner.
Eager to do a production of STAGES in Los Angeles,
Abigail originally formed ROSALIND PRODUCTIONS to produce the
professional World Premiere in 2006. With a clear company vision and
passion for more plays, she decided to go whole hog and build a
future for ROSALIND PRODUCTIONS.
